Colosoul Cares Campaign - The Global Good Foundation
If everyone did a little good, great changes would occur.
The Global Good Foundation was established in 2007 when one woman was inspired to create a better world for those affected by domestic violence, through empowerment, opportunity and education.
With nearly one in three Australian women experiencing physical violence and one in five women experiencing sexual violence over a lifetime, there still exists extremely limited support and services for women and children affected by domestic violence . The GGF has acknowledged the point of difference between current services and those required in order to create a better world for women and children affected by domestic violence.
Chairman and Founder Tenille Bentley sought to develop a place and program that would provide those affected by domestic violence with the opportunity to rehabilitate; a place that focused on youth development as well as future development of small business and young entrepreneurs.
As a child from domestic violence, Tenille recognised the need for an additional approach in helping domestic violence situations, including a key focus on educating the children in domestic violence. The GGF is currently raising funds to build the first GGF Education Centres in Western Australia to provide women and children with a 90+ day program within a community based environment in order to recover and rehabilitate.
This is achieved through a number of programs with both conventional and alternative methods. The key point of difference in the combination of GGF’s Self Awareness Program which involves the use of three methods; Neuro Linguistic Programming, Enneagrams and Archetypes. The program focuses on developing new neurological pathways, which allow individuals to develop different and effective behaviours. Once the program is complete women will have the opportunity to undertake education, business coaching and mentoring. They will also have an opportunity to put together a viable business plan to present to the Foundation’s Board of Directors who will endeavour to source funding opportunities.
Tenille believes this initiative will guide women’s focus onto something they feel passionate about as they prepare the leave the education centre:
“The target is for women to leave the centre with three key items: education, empowerment and opportunity, achieved through our unique programs. From personal experience these are the key ingredients to a structured successful path for people that experience this level of trauma in their lives.”
GGF is currently looking for further support in the opening of an education centre for women and children affected by domestic violence through their Gala Event, to be held nationally in the coming years.
